We arrived at Shell Station off Waiyaki Way, the flagging off point, primed for the day.Our car was a Mitsubishi Nativa, which we had to drive 160 kilometres on the least amount of fuel. Experts say this is the money lost through poor driving coupled with traffic jams. Amazon Motors has been in the dealership backwaters, not a glittering showpiece in spite of the fact that it holds the rights to sell one of the world's best cars, Volvo. But it hasn't been resting on its laurels. Now, we've exclusively learnt that they are bringing in the car that thinks ahead of an accident and responds accordingly; the Volvo XC60. We give you a sneak review in our centre pages. But before the XC60 lands, its premium competitor, the BMW X6 is up and running. We test drove it to assess its claimed coupe and off-road attributes and give you our take.
Your favourite column on classic cars, Old is Gold is back with a rendering of a BMW E12. We've dug into our picture archives for a comparison between this 1981 machine with its 2008 scion to show you just how much BMW has changed.
